Cleaning Woes

My house is an utter mess.

It seems no matter what I do, it stays a mess.

I get home from work around 5:30, so I have from then til 8:00 to cook, do baths & bedtime. I have virtually no time to clean. I get the kids to help me with what they can, but it's not enough. I can't get the Hubby to even pick up his socks, his boots, his shirt, etc. Wherever he happens to be when he takes something off, that's where it stays until I pick it up. It's nothing for several socks & work shirts to be in the living room floor. And it doesn't end with clothing. Plates, cups, wrappers, cans, mail, whatever.

I spend most of the weekend trying to catch up. But laundry alone is a 2 day job. And I would like to rest on my weekends too.

The Hubby mentioned on Sunday that I really need to get "organized". HA! I'd like to see him try to do what I do.

I don't have time to do the FlyLady program, or any other program really. I don't like the idea of doing little things a day like reorganizing my pantry, or cleaning out a drawer. I need massive action in a minimal time kind of help.

I'm at my wits end and have no idea what to do.

Does everyone else know some secret I don't know about? It really seems that way....

My last camera messed up in November. I could take pics outside, but not at night, and none inside. I don't know what's wrong with it. I took it to the geek squad, they reset some settings, but it didn't help. So I bought a new Canon PowerShot SX10 IS. I am in Love =)

3rd Pageant

Princess will be in another pageant next Saturday. It will be her third. This time it's the Talladega Motorsports Hall of Fame Pageant. She is super excited. If she wins, she will get to ride in the Talladega Christmas Parade. Here is her picture for the photogenic part of the pageant.

Busy All the Time!

Just as I'm getting used to 9-4 hours, I'm starting 8-5 tomorrow.
I'm not complaining, I like money!

The Hubby has been working more and more lately, 7 days a week. He's working out of town Monday through Thursday on his main job. But he has 2 other jobs that keep him busy. And he's always helping others out. Herding & tagging cattle. Moving equipment, building and wiring barns, etc.... AND he's leaving on a trail ride tomorrow. Between that, my work and LittleMan's baseball practices & games, I feel like I NEVER see him. =(

In other news, I got 2 ticks off Princess this morning and had a small panic attack. One was big and on the back of her head. The other was small and tooooo close to her girly parts.

Wow it's been a while since I last posted. Since I've been working, I haven't had time to do hardly anything. I haven't even been keeping up with my couponing.

But Princess will be in the local non-glitz Easter Pageant this weekend, hopefully I will have some photos to share with you next week.

Daphne Lately

Wow so much has been going on! I started working on February 5th! I'm so happy to finally be out of the house, even if it's only part time right now.

Princess started daycare/preschool on February 9th. It was a struggle for a few days, but by Thursday, she wasn't kicking and screaming anymore, lol.

My Uncle "J" got married on Valentine's Day. So we now have a new Aunt "V", (not to be confused with my lovely Aunt Vicki). She's so sweet and we all love her like she's been with us forever.

LittleMan has been signed up for Baseball and is looking forward to it already. His draft is March 7th, which upset me a little that they moved it from February, because we have tickets to the rodeo in Montgomery that night, but we'll still make it in time.

The Hubby's been in Missouri on storm duty since January 28th. We miss him terribly and won't see him for another 2-3 weeks probably. =(

It's so hard to juggle work, home life & the kids without the Hubby for so long, but I'm making it. I actually think I'm happier overall. It has to be the job, lol. It's not natural for me to be this happy. Can you imagine how happy I'll be when the Hubby gets home?

Busy Busy

I finally got to go to visit with my family in North Bama the weekend before last. It was a 3day weekend, and I SO needed some family time. It was a good trip.
I know I didn't post about it before, but in November my Papaw wrecked his car, trying to miss a dog that run out in front of him. He flipped 5-6 times. He broke several ribs, one lung was collapsed, he had several bad cuts all over him, and He Broke His Neck. It reminded me of how fragile life is and I want to go visit as often as I can. I went and spent a week after his wreck, but I didn't get to go back until this month, due to money. Sux. He is still wearing a halo, but is doing really well and may get it taken off soon.

SIL R is getting married Feb. 7th. Both my kids are going to be in the wedding. We have been pretty busy with that lately. I've already bought clothes, returned clothes cuz MIL bought clothes, and went to the thrift store for some clothes. I'm tired of clothes shopping.

Plus me & 2 Cousins have been planning her bridal shower for Feb. 1st. Now, I've never helped throw ANY kind of shower. There's a lot to them! Now we're 4 days away from the shower, and I feel stressed just thinking of everything left to do.

I've been searching ebay for a pageant dress for Princess's next pageant (Easter) I found some good choices, now just have to make the choice! I told you I was tired of clothes shopping!

LittleMan has decided to forgo Baseball this year. This made me very sad =( He has decided to do rodeo this year. I think mostly the Hubby's idea. Not that I'm opposed, but Baseball always gave me and LittleMan extra time together & I love to watch him play. But it's his choice, and I will respect it. Even if he'll be behind if he decides to go back to Baseball next year.

We've also decided LittleMan's not running for King of Hearts this year. The school decided to change & sell pizza kits. I just don't see anyone wanting to pay $20ish dollars for a pizza kit that they have to assemble and cook themselves, even if it's for 3 pizzas.

It's almost the time of year I sign onto TicketMaster and order our PRCA Rodeo tickets. It's in March, in Montgomery & we go every year. This year, we're booking a hotel too though. No driving until the wee hours to get home. =)

On top of all that, my camera's flash has went kaput. So I can't even take pictures unless I'm outside =( But here's some cute pics I got of Princess while we were up visiting our family [I didn't get any of LittleMan, he was too busy keep his 4wheeler hot]....

Christmas.

Ugh, so glad it's over. I stressed too much about getting the kids something good, and it all turned out. Santa brought LittleMan a baby cow along with 2 truck & trailers & a rodeo kit! Princess got a baby horse & the playhouse from Santa. We got LittleMan a PSP2 with RockBand, a Guitar Hero air guitar & overalls. We got Princess a cupcake maker (waste of money!), a pink&purple tricycle & a Hannah Montana microphone. They got spoiled, as usual.

I didn't get to go to my family's house, which sucked the biggest nut ever.

Then Hubby talked me into letting the kids go to Louisiana to his brother's house for New Years.
My babies were gone from 12/31 to 1/4.

New Years.

We went to a party and I only had a half a glass of alcohol, early on in the night (DD) but Hubby got plastered. I had fun dancing with some friends and Hubby, but I was ever so ready to come home after midnight.
Hubby got up with a hangover that lasted the entire New Years Day, haha.

LittleMan's Birthday.

LittleMan turned 7 seven years old on 1/2, while in Louisiana. I cried. I missed my babies. =(
We gave him his birthday presents when he got home last night. After all the big Christmas presents, he was kind of unimpressed.

Thats about it. I'm hopeful that things will go back to normal soon, if I can ever seem to take the damn Christmas tree down...

Holiday Blues

I've got the damn holiday blues. =(

Not only do we have very little (Very Little) money to spend on the kiddos for Christmas,
but LittleMan has asked for a baby calf (Yes an effin cow) & we don't know if we can get one in time...

Princess asked for a horse [well actually she asked for 2, My kids aren't spoiled at all ;) ] and we lucked up and found a baby stud colt pretty damn cheap. So she's getting her horse.

But the cow is a little more difficult. & We didn't have as much heads up on LittleMan's request as we did Princess's.

It will be a major letdown if we can't deliver.

Santa's not going to be as giving this year either. Fat Bastard.

I can only Hope that the kids understand, and I'm sure they will.

I think I'll be the one hurt....

Hope everyone had a fantastic Turkey day. I spent the whole week with my Mother, Grandparents, and the rest of my family up in North Bama. Me & the kids did anyway. We got home Sunday night.

That's the reason for no posts in a while.
I still haven't gotten back in my home groove yet. Still haven't even unpacked the car.
Yes I know I am a damn procrastinator. =)

But you see, this time, I have a good excuse.

I come down with some itchy & effin irritating rash.

No, not like the rash I had back in Sept/Oct.

This one is so much worse and it's freakin' me out.

I've done searched the whole damn Internet trying to come up with something.

And of course, already scared the shit out of myself thinking it was staph or something like that.

My aunt thinks it's an allergic reaction. My Granny wonders if it's flea bites. And the Hubby thinks it's my stress-induced eczema. {And if it is, it's his fault it flared up :p }

So, I called my Dermatologist and got an appointment for this Friday to get this damn rash analyzed or whatever.

Keep your fingers, and toes, crossed for me.

Life & Death

I found out at 730 this morning, that one of my best girlfriend's twin brother died last night. It's been a sad day for me. And a most difficult day for BFF I'm sure.

To top the stress of the moment off, their older sister, who is 37 weeks pregnant, lost her mucus plug earlier today. So everyone gathered at the hospital in preparation to welcome a new family member, not 24 hours after losing one.

They ended up sending the sister home, she's not ready to have the baby. *Safe wishes sent to her*

But it got me thinkin' about bringing new life into the world versus death.

7 days before I gave birth to LittleMan, the Hubby lost his grandfather.
3 days before I gave birth to Princess, my Daddy was killed.

Then I got to thinkin' about everyone around me, having babies. It seems like every time someone was about to have a baby born into the family, someone in the family dies.

I know it's the whole world balance thing, but it's just sad.

Kind of makes me relieved that I'm not having any more babies....

If you asked me to write a list of my faults, I could probably sit and write all day. But what I recently realized, is that others see us completely differently than we see ourselves.

For example, I've always hated my legs. They're blindingly white, too big on top and too skinny at the bottom. I have knobby knees and I'm bow-legged.

However, not too long ago I was told I had a great set of legs.

What? You're crazy.

My big nose, which I. Oh. So. Hated. while in high school, now makes me feel unique and defined.

My "ghetto-booty" as my lovely aunt calls it, used to embarrass me so much. Now I know the guys likey.

My itty bitty B "girls" used to be wonderful Ds. Oh how I miss them. But they show I survived postpartum cardiomyopathy / CHF.

My stretchmark covered belly roll took the place of my flat and sexy tummy. But I have 2 healthy beautiful babies instead.

My naturally curly hair. UGH. Takes so much time and effort to keep up. But I was recently told that girls would have killed for my curly locks.

My point? Things are never as bad as they seem.

Unless you're poor, there's no upside to that, heh.

I've only had it for 2 days, but it's changed my life like a religious movement.

I'll be the first to admit I suck major at texting on a regular cell phone. Takes me forever and it's aggravating.

With this phone, its almost as good as hitting on my computer keyboard. It does take some time since the keys are so small, but Oh my is it better than my old phone.

Introducing Princess

Princess was born August 12, 2005. 3 short days after my Dad died. It would be a lie to say that her birth day was completely wonderful. Labor was smooth, her arrival was wonderful and she was amazing, but the day was not. But she was so beautiful.

When she was only 4 days old, I almost died from CHF (read about all this HERE). She almost grew up without her Mommy.

I never took a day with her, or LittleMan, for granted again.

She's filled my life with all the girlie things I'd been missing since I was a little girl. She was the perfect Ying to LittleMan's Yang.

She has come a long way since being that perfect precious newborn.

Now she's potty trained, talkative and a preschooler on the edge, heh. She's mouthy, as she hasn't learned Mommy's wrath yet, she's young, give her time.

She has my temper & is the biggest tiniest drama queen there is.

But she's precious and smart and beautiful and wonderful.

And she's Mine!

She likes to ride horses and tote kitty cats around.

She Loves to dance, she's so naturally talented.

She absolutely LOVES shoes, purses, hairbows & clothes.

She is a little Princess, She will rule!

Introducing LittleMan

LittleMan was born January 2, 2002.

He was amazing from day one. He was so gorgeous and the best baby. He consumed me completely and I got to spend a whole 10 months with him before I had to return to work.

Through the past 7 years, he never ceased to amaze me.

He is a rough & tough little boy. He LOVES his horse, loves to ride. He loves anything outside, including all sports.

He is best at baseball. This past year he played in the Pitcher position. He runs super fast and he throws really fast, we had to work on him slowing his throws down. And BOY can he hit!

He is extremely smart too. He is in the 1st grade this year. He is awesome in math and he's in AR (Advanced Readers).

He is shy, but loves to flirt with the girls. He's happy and sensitive and so tender hearted.

That's my Baby Boy.

Introducing the Hubby

Hubby is a full-fledged, hardcore cowboy.

Did I mention I'm terrified of horses? I didn't? Oh yeah, makes for some great fights.

Anyway, he would ride all day, everyday, if he didn't have to go to work and support his lazy family, heh.

He especially loves to ride the wild & crazy horses. Yeah. The ones that you see on When Animals Go Crazy, lol.

He made the mistake of riding a buckin' bull once. Every since, that's all I hear. He wants to go into Bull Riding. He has a friend that does ride Pro. Makes him want it even more.

Back to the actual money-making job, he is the Lead Lineman on his crew, and they subcontract for Alabama Power, and others. It's terribly dangerous, but he's very good with his hands.

He also does different side jobs, like shod horses, break horses, trim trees ... he's very skilled, that husband of mine.

Anyway, that pretty much describes Hubby. Work Work Work, then play with his Horses, Heh.
